Mini Rugby

 

We welcomed Malone to Shaws on Saturday

 

Some great rugby was had by all age groups

 

This week P2 to P7 away to Belfast Harlequins

 

Dromore 9:00 kick off.

 

 

U12s

 

Under 12 this week are only coaching on Tuesday 18:30 to 19:30

 

With a tournament at Bangor on Friday 19:00 to 21:00

 

 

U12s – Girls

 

U12 girls played in a combined team with Cooke and Lurgan at a let's play event at Ballymoney.

 

They played 4 games and improved steadily all day until their last game against Ballymena when everything clicked.

 

Maia made a try saving tackle that galvanised the whole team and Eva linked really well in the crucial phase that scored the winning try in the corner.

 

A really enjoyable day.

3rd XV & 4th XV – Junior Club

 

3rds lost 32-29 to Belfast Harlequins at Deramore on Friday night.

 

Exciting game for the neutral.
For an Instonian, it was one that got away.

 

Next match for 3rds is against Malone 3rds at Gibson Park on 18th March.

 

4th XV play Randalstown 3rd XV away this Saturday 4th Mar. 2.30KO

 

Junior Training as usual Tuesday night 7pm at Shaws Bridge

A disappointing Saturday when we were slow to start at CIYMS 1st XV in the McCrea Cup

 

By the time we got going it was too late.
Another 5 minutes and we could have done it.

Good luck to CIYMS in the semi-final

Home to Omagh 3rd XV, the only side we have lost to.

 

Kick-off is 2.30pm
if Omagh agree we may go earlier so the 2s can watch the 1st XV game with Ballina.

 

 

1st XV

 

Last Saturday 1st XV hosted Sundays Well 1st XV in match 14 of the league.
Another good performance led to a bonus point win, 66-0.

 

Good luck to Sundays Well with their remaining fixtures.

Final AIL battle on Saturday 15th April at Tullamore.

 

We are organising as many buses as we need to get great traveling support pitch side.

 

It'll be a great family day out.

£25 a seat just provides cost coverage for a full 48 seater with toilet.

Bus leaves Shaws Bridge Sports Association (large car park) at 10am.

 

Return bus will leave Tullamore RFC at 5.30pm arriving back at Shaws Bridge at approximately 8.45pm.

“Instonians live” – an experiment in communication

The “Instonians live” is an experiment by harry Mussen to try and streamline the live scores on Saturday afternoons.

At the moment, Harry posts to four Instonian chats, the Ulster Rugby Scores chat and the Energia AIL Div 2 chat.

Often, he resembles a whirling dervish!

WhatsApp have just introduced the Communities function and he is trying to use it to make one post go to all our Instonian chats.

It’s a work in progress and might well be superseded by the Instonians One App.
