Instonians U21s Academy played Ards Rugby Club Academy side at Shaws Bridge .
We had a lot of injuries , illness and Covid absentees from our usual Squad but what better way for 5 new players to play their first match in an Instonians jersey and for 4 of them, first time playing the sport for 3-7 years .

Welcome to Instonians .
Ards had the stronger team on the night and dominated much of the match .
Once our (effectively) whole new team settled in, we started to gain ground and possession and we saw some great rugby, physicality and spirit .
On this occasion it was not enough and Ards won 24-14 .
All players and spectators observed a moments silence just before kick off .
Tragically an Ards player took his own life this week which is beyond bearable .
Our thoughts and condolences are with the wider Ards RFC , family and friends community.
